This Privacy Policy explains how Sykes Games ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the video game The Horror Show (the "Game"). By playing the Game, you agree to the practices described here.

We have tried to keep this policy short and honest. We collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your data.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you play, the Game may involve the following:

Display name / username. A name you choose to identify yourself to other players in multiplayer sessions. Please do not use your real full name or other sensitive personal information as your display name.
Multiplayer connection data. To connect you to other players, the Game uses a third-party networking service (Photon). This involves the transmission and temporary processing of technical data such as your IP address, connection and session identifiers, and in-game state needed to keep the session in sync.
Voice chat. If you use in-game voice chat, your microphone audio is transmitted in real time to the other players in your session so they can hear you. This audio is streamed for live communication. We do not record, store, or listen to your voice chat.
Platform information. When you obtain or run the Game through a platform or store (for example, Meta Quest or Steam), that platform may provide us with a limited player identifier and basic entitlement information so the Game functions. Your use of the platform is also governed by that platform's own privacy policy.
Technical and diagnostic data. We may collect basic technical information (such as device type, and error or crash reports) to help us find and fix problems and improve stability.

The Game does not allow players to upload custom images or files, and we do not knowingly collect your real name, address, payment details, or precise location. Payment for the Game is handled entirely by the store you purchased it from, not by us.

How We Use Information

To operate multiplayer sessions and connect you with other players.
To enable real-time voice chat between players who choose to use it.
To display player names during multiplayer play.
To diagnose problems, maintain security, and improve the Game.
To comply with legal obligations where required.

Our lawful bases for processing (where UK/EU data-protection law applies) are the performance of our agreement with you to provide the Game, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving it.

Third-Party Services

To provide multiplayer and voice features, the Game relies on services provided by Photon / Exit Games GmbH. If you obtained the Game through a store or platform, that platform's privacy policy also applies to your use of its services.

Data Retention

Multiplayer connection data and voice audio are processed only for as long as needed to run your session and are not retained by us afterwards. Any diagnostic or crash data we receive is kept only as long as necessary to investigate and resolve issues.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Children

The Game is a horror title intended for mature audiences (rated 17+/18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Game evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued play after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
